MONA Beyond the Lens brings you this special FREE presentation of O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Preceded by Dr Nathan Tye, assistant professor of history at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, walking us through President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal programs. Often referred to as the “Alphabet Soup” due to their numerous acronyms, these programs aimed to provide relief, recovery, and reform during the Great Depression. One of these programs, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Federal Art Project played a crucial role in supporting artists across the country, some of whom are part of the Museum’s permanent collection.
